Starburst Ring
Starburst Ring

Starburst Ring:

This is a remarkable piece of laundry by Charlie Watson of New Zealand. The big, dramatic spikes rotate slowly to create an impression unlike anything you have seen on a kite line.

We are making Starbursts in two sizes -- a 12 spike and a 24 spike. Each spike is three feet deep so that the smaller model is about ten feet tall and the larger one a huge eighteen feet.

We can do either rainbow or a two or three color combination such as warm, cool, or patriot. The Starburst-12 sells for $125 and the double-size Starburst-24 for $250.

Charlie also designed the 3-Leg Drogue and Jellyfish Spinner. We are delighted to be producing his creations under an exclusive license.

Jellyfish Spinner:

This is another great piece of soft laundry by Charlie Watson.

The Jellyfish is a spinning windsock with six long tapering cones. The combined effect is a whirling helix of color that one spectator described as"fairies dancing in the sky". Check out the video to get the full impact.

We now offer a selection of larger sizes for a variety of applications.

  • 15 feet - $85
  • 28 feet - $150
  • 40 feet - $225
  • 65 feet - $500
  • Jellyfish

Use the Jellyfish as either a drogue or line art. We stock them in"rainbow","warm"and"cool"or can make any color combination you like. Licensed & Protected Design by C. Watson

    Rotating Spikey Balls:

What could be better than an undulating Spikey Ball hanging from your kite or line?? A bigger Spikey Ball that rotates!!

We've beefed up the new balls to about 1/3 larger and added a vented scoop to the front. They turn smoothly in the wind and draw even more attention.

    Rotating Spikey Ball

The overall size is now 4.5 feet in diameter (including spikes) and 18 feet long. We can make them in any color you want. We've got this exclusive design priced at $70 each.

We've seen all kinds of tricks used to attach laundry to a flying line. Most involve knots which cause abrasion and weaken line strength. Our approach is a lot more simple.

We wrap small carabiners into the main flying line. Normally, three twists work just fine. When the line is slack, you can slide the "biner" anywhere you want. But when the kite goes up and tension builds on the line, the "biner" is locked in place.

It's quick, easy, and doesn't reduce line strength.

    Three Legged Drogue:

Looking for a low-cost alternative in a spinning drogue? Look no further!

Our Three Legged Drogue is completely different. It contains three cones, connected together at the top. Attach it to your kite, flying line, or a banner pole and watch it spin whimsically in the wind. The larger sizes are perfect for a big flowform or parafoil.

Drogues come in three sizes: small (3 foot) for $10, medium (6 foot) for $45 and giant (10 foot) for $75.

We stock "warm" (red/orange/yellow), "cool" (blue/green/purple), and "patriot" (red/white/blue). Give us three weeks and we'll be happy to make one in any color you like.

GKPI is pleased to present the most interesting designs from around the globe but occasionally changes the names because of subtle differences in the use of the English language....The Three Legged Drogue was originally designed by Charlie Watson in New Zealand. He called his version "The Horny Spinner".

    The Incredible Five-Leg Drogue:

We have some pretty cool stuff, but Charlie Watson down in New Zealand has out-done himself on this one. The Five-Leg Drogue is a prefect piece for line decoration, hanging behind a kite, or displaying from a pole. Check out the video and see for yourself!

5 Leg Drogue 5 Leg Drogue 5 Leg Drogue

The Five-Leg Drogue is similar in concept to its Three-Leg Drogue cousin. The opening on the smaller model is about three feet wide and on the larger one, stretches to five feet. Legs are two feet deep and we are including a good Sampo ball-bearing swivel with each piece.

Choose a combination of five colors and we'll make you a small one for $39 or a big one for $70. Licensed & Protected Design by C. Watson

    Spiked "Madonna" Bols:

The Germans who first designed them called these spinning bols "pickels' and "pimple wheels'. But we didn't think acne references sounded too good, so we named them "Madonnas" in reference to the wild outfits the singer was wearing at the time. Fashions have changed but our spinning Spiked Bols are still definite show-stoppers.

They are four foot bols with three rows of spikes. The heavy fabric takes a beating, and an elastic trailing edge helps maintain inflation in gusts. Use them as line laundry, drogues on a big lifter, or as ground bouncers. Singles look great, a matched pair looks better, and a string of half a dozen are awesome...

    Spiked Madonna Bols

We can order any colors you like, but we recommend solids with black spikes. Your cost is $150 each or $275 a pair. Click on the photo for a better look.

And now we have Big Madonnas too! They are 13 feet tall and come with a heavy duty swivel for serious flying. Great for making an impact on the flying field.

The Big Ones are prices at $499 each or $899 a pair. Let us know what colors we can make up for you.

    Spikey Ring:

There is something about spikes and spinners that never fails to draw attention. Wonder what that is....

The Spikey Wheel is about seven feet in diameter and is available in your choice of colors. Use your imagination! For example -- try purple and white stripes with black spikes or all blue with red spikes. You describe it and we'll make it for you. The price is just $99.

    SpinFlower

    SpinFlower:

Small changes make a big design difference. By elongating the cones on our Starburst and then connecting them together we got a rotating line decoration that looks like a flower in flight.

The size is still substantial -- about four feet across - and the rotation is faster. The price is lower too. We're selling SpinFlowers for just $75.

    Vented Baskets

    Vented Baskets:

Three feet of fast spinning color! Our Vented Baskets are designed to turn fast but not pull too hard. That means you can lift them on a kite or line, and that they won't overstress a pole or anchor. Get them up off the ground for maximum performance.

They are designed to sell for less too! Just $45 each. Click here for a short movie!

    Spinning Windsocks:

Rotating Windsocks are the original "big stuff". Before Peter Lynn, before bols, baskets, and barrels, the ninety-foot Spinsock was the way you impressed people with a big colorful inflated piece. And you know what? It still is...

    Spinsock
With GKPI, you get a choice of the traditional striped, or the dramatic diamond sail pattern. We can also add spikes at no addition cost.

In average winds, large socks can be lifted by a 125 or 252 Flowform, a Pilot 75, or one of our SkyFoil Lifters. Check them out on our Parafoil Pages. Licensed & Protected Design by Catch the Wind

    Rotosaurus

    Rotating Rotosaurus:

Whoa! Check this out!! It looks like a colorful hot-dog with spikes except that it rotates and has an opening that looks like a mouth!

The Rotosaurus is another piece from Charlie Watson and we love it! There are two sizes -- a four-footer for $30 and a six-footer for $50. Think of it as a flying, rotating prehistoric beast.

All of this fabric needs a big bag.
But you don't want to spend a bunch of money on bags so check this out.

We've got top quality duffel bags, made of black Cordura with tough metal zippers (double opening), Velcro handle attachment, carrying strap and a waterproof lining. They measure 40 inches long and 18 inches wide. Stuff in a giant octopus or fill them with a festival full of foils and laundry. They are the biggest bags the airlines allow.

Your price?? Get this -- $25!

Spend your money on kites. Then stuff them in our bags...
