GKPI is delighted to offer the entire line from Martin Lester. We've got the "body parts" and the popular Scuba Diver, as well as some of the harder to find designs. Each kite is special ordered, individually crafted at Martin's workshop in Bristol, England, and shipped direct to you. Martin started making and designing kites in 1973. He worked in Europe's first kite shop in Bristol and set up his own design and production business in 1982. Lester kites could never be described as mass market - originality of design and quality of workmanship have always his prime concern. All Lester kites are fully wind-inflated three dimensional. The earlier designs have frames, the more recent ones are totally soft. |
Top Half: He waves; he wanders; but mostly he just sits there and stares down at you with that unyielding smile. Easy to launch and to fly. But most important, the Lester Top Half is one of the most whimsical attention-getting kites on the field. Put a whole team out there and see what kind of fun develops. The standard Top is three feet wide and eight long. We offer them for $180 plus shipping. Ask for a special deal on three or more. Or if you are feeling extravagant, go for the bigger 30 foot Big Top at $2000. |

Lester Legs: When we first saw the legs fly, we were amazed. And the neat part is that they still amaze us! Legs are the original Lester "body part". The standard bottom half is 8.5 feet long and three wide. Your cost is $180 plus shipping. Or again, we can get the extreme Big Legs, thirty feet long, for $2000. |
Natalie's Legs: OK - so here's the story. Natalie used to work with Martin. After the Legs kite became popular, Martin decided to make a special set for Natalie as sort of a joke. You can see the result -- frilly panties, garter belts and stockings... |
Maybe that's why she ended up marrying Paul and moving to London. Anyway, the kite caught on and now you can have one too. It's sort of PG Rated, but no one has complained yet. Same size and price as the standard legs: 8.5 feet long and three wide. You cost is $180 plus shipping. Or we can get the Big Natalie, thirty feet long, for $2000. |
Martin's Team and the Chorus Line: Double-up with Martin's Team - two pair of Legs, joined by a center panel and including a soccer ball that the players can chase in the sky. Or for something more whimsical, try the Chorus Line - two pair of Natalie's Legs in high-stepping fun! |
If one pair of legs is fun, just imagine a few more... Each set is six feet wide and 8.5 feet long. Double the fun for $375. |
Shark: Check out this fearsome predator. He's twelve feet long and five feet wide -- a semi-rigid kite, wind inflated, with a dowel and fiberglass frame. And he's priced at under $25 a foot... The Shark has long been associated with Martin. He even wears it on his shirt, so you know he likes this kite. Put Martin's trademark in your sky. Fly the Shark for just $299. |
"Icarus: Ok -- which one was it that fell into the sea when he flew too high. Was it Icarus or Deadelus?? No matter. This kite won't melt in the sun. He's six feet from finger-tip to finger-tip and eight feet tall. A semi-rigid kite, wind inflated, with a dowel and fiberglass frame. Make Icarus part of your mythology for $275. |
Japanese Crane: The Crane in Japan represents strength, longevity, and good luck. Wouldn't you feel lucky to have one in your bag? The Lester Crane is another semi-rigid kite with a frame made from dowel and fiberglass. He has a seven foot wingspan. Current pricing on the Crane is $320. It's an unusual kite. Fly one and chances are that no one will have ever seen another like it. |

Canada Goose: Yes, it's Canadian, but you still have to pay in US dollars. Sorry... ;) This cool Goose is a big oven-full. Six by eight feet and fully framed in dowel and fiberglass. Your price is $289. Speaking of cool, we can also get the Snow Goose for the same price. The specs and design is the same as the Canadian, but the colors are different. |
Flamingo: It used to be pretty prestigious to have one of these guys on your front lawn. Imagine the looks you'll get when you pop one up over the flying field... The Flamingo kite is seven by seven feet of pink fun. The first time I saw one was when I met Martin at the AKA convention in 1988. He was dressed as a Flamingo too, but that's another story. Tell you what. Buy the kite for $320 and I'll tell you the story... |

Mega Parts: The biggest yet! Mega Body Parts aren't in everyone's budget, but they are just perfect for some extreme fliers. And of course, everyone else wants to know what they cost, so here's the deal: The Mega Legs, featuring Martin's own shorts, and the Mega Top, dressed as you like, measure sixty feet long. They are spendy -- a breath-taking $11,000 each. But we guarantee that you will get a truly unique kite. And GKPI will throw in a free bag... |
